HistoryMy FatherMy dad, Paul Brunet, was born in Quebec City, February 7, 1916. He was the second child and oldest son from a family of nine children. His father, Leon, was a Civil Engineer employed by the Provincial Government. He was responsible for the construction and maintenance of docks on the South shore of the St-Lawrence river from Quebec City going East up to Riviere du Loup. His mother, Berthe (née Fréchette) was a full time mother. My father was a chemist. He worked many years for the National Defense Department, at CARDE (the Canadian Armament Research and Development Establishment). He ended his career working at Laval University. My MotherMy mom (Gaby Brunet, née Robitaille) was the middle child from a family of three girls. She was born in Quebec City on August 15, 1919. Her father, André, worked for a major local paper, and later went into business for himself. At the paper he was responsible for distribution throughout the province. His business ventures included furniture retail and magazine distribution. Her mother was a home maker. My mom worked until she married and then stayed home to raise four children, Marie, Louis, Jacqueline and Gilles . I was born in 1951 in Quebec City. I did all my schooling there. In July 1971 I became a Baha'i. I married Julia Yates in June 1973. Amelia our daughter was born in March 1980.
