In June 2002 Julie Yates Brunet (my dear wife) performed with a large choir of 564 voices - The Voices of Bahá. The choir occupied space on the main stage as well as in boxes on either side of the room. At times they created waves of voices from one side to the other, surrounding the audience with sound.
Members of the choir came from 23 countries. It was quite a challenge to pull together such a project. Each singer of course had to audition. This was done over the phone. Once they were accepted a recording of each partition was sent on CD by the choir director, to be used for individual practice. Once in New York the choir was divided into several sub choirs for rehearsals. Finally the day of the concert the whole thing had to come together and according to members of the audience it did beautifully.
Here are some photos of the event.
