Work Samples

Below is a sampling of work I have produced over the years. Most times it was a team effort.

The fun of doing this brochure was in renting a helicopter to take the arial shot of the buildings. I was holding on to the photographer's belt while he was leaning out. This brochure was done back in the days when one had to specify the values of cmyk at each end of a gradient. I had gradients on every page. Nortel did not want to use illustration for the collateral of any of its products but there was nowhere where it said one could not draw a picture in the sand and take a picture of it. Our team had fun doing this project. We even had plastic molded boxes planned to hold the books in phase two. For some time we experimented with video streaming before anybody else was interested. We had a couple hundred hours of training video available for playback over the internal network. The IT folks didn't like us then. This series of images are the work of a computer artist. i.e they are computer graphics not photos. This was a fabulous way to generate glamour shots of products. It could actually be done whether the product was already built or not. We combined images, animations and video with a web interface and put everything on a CD-ROM. Slick information package for complex products! Occasionally a customer would ask us to do something a bit more whimsical, in this case a series of posters on the theme of the super robot "OpTerabot". The point was to tell the story of our product wreaking havoc in the market place with respect to our competitors. A series of CD-ROMs telling the story of different products to our customers. These would typically combine, sound, video, animation and graphics. An example of animation. This video clip was 100% computer animated using Alias/Wavefront's Maya. A brand new web site for Nortel Network's Optical Components group. We were hoping to get rich with a spin-off. We got laid off instead... Bummer. A group of 10,000 employees needs an intranet. This is the home page for the Optical Components intranet site. Everything you need to know at your fingertips. The private web site for Ottawa Bahá'ís keeps everybody abreast of news and activities. The public site of the Bahá'í Community of Ottawa. Recent business identity project.
